LABYRINTH’S SARAH: @WHITERIVERWORKSHOP
COSPLAY ZINE PROJECT
RACHEL KEARNS has been participating in amateur, educational, and professional theatre productions since 2005 and has been cosplaying since 2007. After high school, she took a break from cosplay until 2015 to complete a BA in Technical Theatre and Design from SFSU and a Master of Fine Arts in Stage Design from The Lir at Trinity College Dublin. She now works in theatre and cosplays regularly.
From Labyrinth’s bubble ball dream sequence, Sarah’s ball gown is made from 24 yards of organza, 12 yards of muslin, and 20 yards of lace. The silhouette is based off of 17th century women’s fashion and features a pannier to support the cartridge pleated skirt and a fully lined and boned bodice. Hand beaded appliqués were added at the neckline and hem of the bodice. Wig was curled and styled with hand made hair clips.
