2021 SILICON MINI-ZINE

THE COSPLAY: I started playing Final Fantasy XIV Online as a new game to pass the time when other MMOs weren’t catching my interest anymore. I quickly became obsessed, and found my favorite character. As I went through the story (spoiler-free here) I knew G’raha Tia was definitely the character I resonated with the most. He would always put his friends and comrades first. Although he would sometimes speak in circles and half truths, he was always thinking of them and how to protect them. Plus, who doesn’t want to be a cat sometimes!

The cosplay itself was half made, half purchased. @Gingerquest_cosplay on Instagram 3D printed and made the staff. The white crystal at the top lights up, but unfortunately the battery had died by the time the shoot came around. The clothing was made by EZCosplay, and I made alterations where necessary. The tail was made by myself, and the wig was styled by me. The ears were made by @candyzombiescom on Instagram.

BIO: Hi I’m Risa, although some call me Izzy! I have been cosplaying since 2014, but was obsessed with Halloween and costumes way before that. After a wonderful person became my mentor and taught me to sew. Once I knew the trade, I was off! It’s been such a short time but an awesome adventure so far!
